Tra post, messaggi, mail e telefonate abbiamo risposto a moltissime persone, ma soprattutto abbiamo riscontrato quanto poco si sappia sulle regole, anche quelle “antiche” e semplici come quella sulla rimessa da fuori campo. (english version below)

Ad una prima visione del video qualche particolare può sfuggire; partendo dall’esempio, cercheremo di trattare l’argomento in modo esaustivo, perché ci sono mille pieghe regolamentari su si può inciampare se non sia analizza la situazione a 360 gradi.

La domanda più frequente è: si può fare? La risposta è: sì, forse, dipende!

Dopo un canestro subito, la palla può essere passata tra compagni di squadra che si trovano dietro la linea di fondo; badate bene, non è prevista alcuna restrizione sul numero di passaggi: l’importante è che la palla venga rimessa in gioco entro 5” da quando è a disposizione del primo giocatore per la rimessa. Le interpretazioni FIBA specificano che la palla può essere “passata” tra compagni anche con un passaggio consegnato o mettendola per terra. Il canestro può essere realizzato su azione, tiro libero o attribuito per una interferenza difensiva. Il pallone può essere raccolto direttamente dai giocatori, dopo essere fuoriuscito dalla retina, oppure messo a disposizione da un arbitro, come può accadere dopo una sospensione e/o sostituzione. In tutte queste situazioni l’azione del video è legale.

In tutte le rimesse non susseguenti ad un canestro subito il giocatore che rimette è l’unico autorizzato ad uscire dal terreno di gioco; un’ulteriore restrizione è data dal rispetto del punto di rimessa, che come ben sapete in caso di rimessa dopo canestro subito non esiste! Si può quindi dire che in caso di violazione (esclusa l’interferenza difensiva) o fallo questa giocata è illegale. Nel momento in cui il giocatore incaricato per la rimessa passa o consegna la palla ad un compagno che ha anche una sola parte del corpo fuori dal terreno di gioco la violazione di palla fuori campo sarebbe compiuta.

Per completezza di informazione e in relazione alla nuova sanzione del fallo tecnico: se dal momento in cui il tiro è stato rilasciato (entrando poi nel canestro) fino al momento in cui dopo la rimessa dal fondo  la palla viene controllata dal primo giocatore in campo, un eventuale fallo tecnico sanzionato contro qualunque giocatore o allenatore comporterebbe la seguente ripresa del gioco: dopo il tiro libero del fallo tecnico, il gioco riprenderà sempre con una rimessa dal fondo per canestro subito, eccetto l’opzione per l’allenatore di richiedere sospensione (negli ultimo 2’ del 4°quarto o supplementare) e decidere poi di spostare la rimessa in zona di attacco.

This viral video is riding worldwide, many people are asking us what we think about it. At the first sight some particulars may escape: that’s why we will try to explain the case exhaustively usnig the clip as example.

Is it allowed? This is the most frequent question! The answer is: yes, it depends!

Rules book: after a basket the non-scoring team has right to take a throw-in from any place behind his team end line. Ball may be passed between team mates behind the end line; anyway the 5” count starts when the ball is at disposal of the first player out of bound. The FIBA Official Interpretations specifies that the ball may be also placed on the floor or handed between team mates.

The basket may be scored after a field goal, after a free throw (one or last), or granted for a violation of interference/goal tending by the defensive team. The ball must be collect directly by the players or put at disposal by a referee, for example after a Time-out and/or a substitution. In all this situations as we can see in the video is legal.

On the other hand, when we have a throw-in for violation or foul, alternating possession or game interruption by a referee call (when game clock is running), all the restrictions to the thrower-in, must be applied and therefore we have only player authorized to leave the playing court; in addition the throw-in point, must be respected.

For completeness of information, related to the new sanction of Technical foul, if from the moment when a field goal is released (and the shoot enters in the basket) to the moment after the throw in is released and the ball controlled by the first player on the playing court: a Technical foul was called, to any player or coach; after the free throw, the game resume with a throw-in for the non scoring team behind the end line, except the option for the coach who request a time-out (in last 2’ of 4th quarter or overtime) and he decides that the throw-in shall be administered in his front court.
